The plan of the town (pl. I) which accompanies the present article is based on a tracing of the pianta catastale or cadastral survey dating from the first half of last century and kindly procured for Prof. Hülsen by Mgr. Bianconi. The ancient remains have been indicated upon it by Mr. F. G. Newton, Student of the British School at Rome, Who is also responsible for the other drawings Which accompany this anicle.
